SKC 100th Obedience Trials ...
Today's SKC Obedience Trials was a great SUCCESS! However I have a mixed feeling leaving the trial ground this evening. This time round, not many of our Positive Warriors make it for this Obedience Trials.
In the Just-For-Fun (JFF) Competition, we have Reese and Marcus debuting for this highyl competitive JFF Class. Reese was rather distracted, and this team didn't do too well, but it's a great experience and exposure for this young team. You will be sure this team wil be coming back for more in the near future.
In the Pre-Novice Class, I took over Happi from Meow and we got less than we wanted. Happi will be better off trialing for Meow in the future. After seeing her performances I requested to drop out so that Happi won't be reinforce for putting in sub-standard performances.
After a long lay-off from last August 2013, Millie is back in contention. She came in TOP and 1st Placing in Novice Class. Millie is good this afternoon, giving me very good attention even though her heelwork is not up to my expectation. I was very nervous during our SIT-STAY and DOWN-STAY group exercise, Millie perk up twice, as I lean forward during the stays. Especially at the down-stay, one of the dog next to me break his/her stays and moved towards the owner, I thought in my heart, oh NO ... she is going to follow suit, but Thank God, she stayed.
Now that she has TOP nd WON both Pre-Novice and Novice Class, I have to start training her on Intermediate and Open Exercises. Here is the fun, I love the field-work trial and I'm getting excited to re-train her on exercises such as Retreive, High-Jump, Broad-Jump, Distance Control, Go-Out etc .....
Thankfully, Millie is positively train, as it will be easy to retrain her and I'm sure the reinforcement history will edge us in our training routine for the higher classes.
Once again, we proofed POSITIVE TRAINING ROCKS!
